Description

# Lyrics Editor + LyricsMonitor VST3

A lyric writing and timing workflow for songwriters working with Cubase.

This project contains two connected parts:

1. **Lyrics Editor** – a Windows desktop editor for writing lyrics, managing reusable song section/header configurations, finding rhymes, and assigning timing to individual words.
2. **LyricsMonitor VST3** – a Cubase-compatible VST3 plugin that reads exported lyric timing data and displays the active word during playback.

## Overview

The goal of this project is to make it easy to:

- write and structure lyrics
- assign timing to words or phrases
- export timing data for Cubase playback
- display the current lyric word in sync with the project timeline using a VST3 plugin

The editor and plugin communicate through JSON and a small anchor file stored in the user's Documents folder.

## Workflow

### Basic workflow

1. Write or open lyrics in **Lyrics Editor**
2. Select a word
3. Use **Set Word Timing...**
4. Enter `StartQn` and optional `EndQn`
5. Review timings in the timing grid
6. Export to Cubase
7. Open Cubase and insert **LyricsMonitor**
8. Start playback and watch the active word update

## Timing Format

The editor uses **quarter note positions** (`Qn`) for timing.

Examples:

- `1.0` = beat 1
- `1.5` = halfway between beat 1 and 2
- `2.0` = beat 2

This allows the lyrics to follow tempo and transport position in Cubase.

2. Kompatibilitet
Kunden ansvarar själv för att kontrollera att den egna datorn och systemmiljön är kompatibel med programmet innan installation och användning. Om rimsökning används krävs internetanslutning.

3. Säkerhetskopiering
Kunden ansvarar själv för att säkerhetskopiera viktiga filer, dokument och låttexter före och under användning av programmet. Programmet bör användas med normal försiktighet och arbete bör sparas regelbundet.

4. Begränsning av ansvar
Programmet tillhandahålls som ett enkelt kreativt verktyg för textarbete. Säljaren ansvarar inte, i den utsträckning det är tillåtet enligt tvingande lag, för indirekta skador, följdskador, dataförlust, utebliven vinst, förlorat arbete, driftavbrott eller annan liknande ekonomisk skada som uppstår genom användning av eller oförmåga att använda programmet.

5. Tekniska variationer
Säljaren garanterar inte att programmet fungerar felfritt i alla datorer, systemmiljöer, antivirusmiljöer, användarkonton eller konfigurationer. Funktioner som beror på internet eller externa tjänster kan påverkas av avbrott, ändringar eller begränsningar utanför säljarens kontroll.

6. Användning
Kunden ansvarar för hur programmet används, var filer sparas och att osparat arbete inte lämnas utan uppsikt under längre arbetspass. Kunden ansvarar även för att följa instruktionerna för programmets användning.

7. Konsumentens rättigheter
Ingenting i dessa villkor begränsar de rättigheter som konsumenten har enligt tvingande svensk lag. Om programmet är felaktigt enligt tillämplig konsumentlagstiftning gäller de rättigheter som följer av sådan lag.

8. Ansvarsgräns
Ansvarsbegränsningen gäller inte i fall där ansvar inte får begränsas enligt tvingande lag, eller vid uppsåt eller grov vårdslöshet från säljarens sida.

9. Digital leverans
Produkten levereras digitalt. Genom att genomföra köpet samtycker kunden till att leveransen påbörjas direkt. Kunden är införstådd med att ångerrätten därmed kan gå förlorad när leveransen eller nedladdningen har påbörjats, i den utsträckning som lagen medger.

1. Product
Lyrik Editor is a simple program for writing and editing song lyrics and saving them as text files. The program also includes functions for inserting titles, copy/paste, changing fonts and rhyme searching via an external internet service.

2. Compatibility
The customer is responsible for checking that their own computer and system environment is compatible with the program before installation and use. If rhyme searching is used, an internet connection is required.

3. Backup
The customer is responsible for backing up important files, documents and song lyrics before and during use of the program. The program should be used with normal caution and work should be saved regularly.

4. Limitation of Liability
The program is provided as a simple creative tool for text work. The seller is not liable, to the extent permitted by mandatory law, for indirect damages, consequential damages, loss of data, loss of profit, loss of work, interruption of operations or other similar economic damage arising from the use of or inability to use the program.

5. Technical variations
The seller does not guarantee that the program will function flawlessly in all computers, system environments, antivirus environments, user accounts or configurations. Functions that depend on the internet or external services may be affected by interruptions, changes or limitations beyond the seller's control.

6. Use
The customer is responsible for how the program is used, where files are saved and that unsaved work is not left unattended during extended work shifts. The customer is also responsible for following the instructions for using the program.

7. Consumer rights
Nothing in these terms and conditions limits the rights that the consumer has under mandatory Swedish law. If the program is faulty under applicable consumer law, the rights that follow from such law apply.

8. Limitation of liability
The limitation of liability does not apply in cases where liability may not be limited under mandatory law, or in cases of intent or gross negligence on the part of the seller.

9. Digital delivery
The product is delivered digitally. By completing the purchase, the customer agrees that delivery will begin immediately. The customer understands that the right of withdrawal may thereby be lost once delivery or download has begun, to the extent permitted by law.
